2013 Liquid Force Envy Kite

After getting our hands on the 2013 Liquid Force Envy we took it out in the surf and the flat water to figure out how the kite would handle in each area. The new Envy is very similar to the 2012 with some small changes to the kite and the bar. This kite is great for all around use and the best part is the price has not increased at all.

The 2013 Liquid Force Envy has retained its low end grunty power from the 2012 season. The high end of the 2013 model is a bit more forgiving then it was last year. We found that the 2012 would pull extremely hard not wanting to spill much of the power, but this year is more forgiving in that area.

The new Envy has kept the beyond delta shape making it nice and stable in the air. The bar pressure is light, while still retaining responsive and predictable steering. The turning speed is moderate to fast giving the ability to generate some apparent wind in lighter conditions. Water relaunch on the kite is effortless, pull on a line and it is back up in the air without a strugle.

The 2013 bar has an upgraded swivel that actually keeps the lines from spinning up during loops, rolls, or twists. If you always spin or loop in the same direction the lines will eventually start twisting, but this swivel works much better than the 2012 model, which only worked if you unhooked the CPR flag line. We believe the CPR system is one of the safest on the market.

Who is this kite suited for? The 2013 Liquid Force Envy is great for any level kiter. Whether you are just getting into the sport or a seasoned veteran, this kite will do anything you want it to do. From your first ride to your first handlepass the Envy is an every level kite at an entry level cost.
